Getting the Green Light on Your Booking

After you’ve booked with us, keep an eye on your inbox for a confirmation email. If it’s not showing up, give us a shout, and we’ll get things sorted.

02
Your Welcome guide: The Keys to Adventure

As soon as you’re booked, we’ll send you an email with your welcome Guide — your digital passport to the wild. Inside, you’ll find directions and precise GPS coordinates for your cabin’s tucked-away spot (we’re talking places too cool for traditional addresses). 03
The Ultimate Packing List for Magic Wood Adventures

Heading off-grid? The weather does its own thing out here, so come prepared for every season in one go. Here’s what to pack:

1. Warm layers: Yes, even in summer.

2. Backup outfit + socks: Just in case rain makes an appearance.

3. Rugged footwear: No white kicks here; think boots that can handle the mud.

4. Raincoat, hat & sunscreen.

5. Cold weather: Thick socks + beanie.

6. Warmer months: Swimmers, just in case there’s a spot for a dip.

7. Food to fit the small fridge

8. Your own milk: We keep things simple, so bring what you like for coffee.

9. Essentials: Don’t forget your must-haves, like meds.

04
Working from the cabins

Like those “Eureka!” moments in the shower, the outdoors is your brain’s best friend when it comes to creativity. Nature boosts your ideas and helps you see connections you’d never find in an office.

Tips for working in nature:

1. Set a goal for your time out here.

2. Bring your laptop or a trusty notebook.

3. Walk between tasks to recharge.

05
What Being “off grid” is All About

Magic Wood is all about freedom, slowing down, and soaking in life’s simplest pleasures. Here, the focus is on meaningful moments, minus the stress.

Here’s what you might find yourself doing:

1. Spinning cassette tapes while cloud-watching from bed.

2. Sunbathing with a book in hand.

3. Cooking up a storm, chatting, savoring every second.

4. Doing yoga with trees as your only audience.

5. Lying back, doors open, letting nature roll in.

We also have laid-back walks around each cabin. They’re more mindful meanders than epic hikes. Check out your welcome pack maps once booked or ask us if you’re after longer trails or runs.

Is Firewood supplied?

We’ve got firewood available at all cabins for those chilly nights and sing-alongs under the stars. The firebox is stocked ready to be lit. Prepay for additional firewood when you book, and you’ll have all the logs you need for your stay. £10 per bag (opened)

We’ve got the basics covered: lighters, matches, and fire starters.

Note: When the weather’s warmer, fire bans are in place due to the risk of moorland wildfires which means no fires or firewood. We’ll keep you updated on specific cabin pages after booking.

08
Is there heating/Air conditioning…

As our cabins our fully off grid, heating is provided by wood burning stove, and cooling is provided by opening the windows!

09
The Lowdown on the Loo 🚽🌿

We’re all about that off-grid life, so each cabin comes with a composting toilet, crafted to keep things sustainable and simple. It’s pretty close to your home setup, just without the flush.

Here’s how it works: liquids and solids take different paths — liquids get diverted, while solids compost beneath the pedestal. Don’t worry; these setups are odor-free! Just a tip: keep the lid closed (nature’s rules).

Only toss in toilet paper, wood chips, and your 1’s and 2’s. To keep things fresh, we’ve even included a natural air freshener.

10
Fresh Water, Always Flowing 💧

Every one of our cabins  has running water in the kitchen and bathroom, and yep, it’s safe to drink! It’s filtered rain water. If you’re picky about your water’s taste, though, feel free to bring your own. We also suggest packing a bottle of emergency water — better safe than sorry out in the wild!

11
Check-in, Check-out, and Chill 🕰️

All our cabins are self check-in, ready for whenever you roll up — no need to rush or meet the host. Just take your time and enjoy the journey.

Check-in/out times vary, so check the cabin’s page before booking to confirm.

To get inside, you’ll find either a lockbox with a key or a keypad. All the details are in your Welcome Guide before your stay.

When it’s time to head out, just leave things as you found them — no trace, just vibes.

12
Is there Wifi

Yes, we have Starlink at most cabins, whilst it’s great to disconnect, sometimes there’s an emergency that means you need bandwidth.
